Emotional Honesty Brings Healing
When seeking for healing from emotionally scarred relationships, remember to always be honest with yourself AND with God. Admit that you are angry, embarrassed, ashamed, confused, resentful, bitter, mad, hurt, and any other emotion that you are experiencing. Confession brings a great measure of healing in and of itself. If you are feeling some kind of way, display that to God in prayer and ask Him to use His sutures and proceed to stitch the fragmented pieces of your life back together again.
Your outlet for releasing pent up emotions is found in prayer AND in the counsel of trusted and seasoned believers. Forgiveness is also instrumental in healing process, but the first person you need to forgive is YOURSELF. Refuse to live in the place called, Self-Condemnation.
Avoiding Disaster in Marriage
Time and tested word of wisdom:
When engaged in ‘heated fellowship’ in marriage, never begin your statements with YOU. When you do that, spirits of accusation and blame are invited into the marriage. Always begin with YOUR FEELINGS from YOUR POINT OF VIEW.
Example. I feel neglected. I feel abandoned, (instead of You left me, You forgot about me).
Example. I feel as if I can’t be trusted with money. I feel like I’m under a microscope, (instead of, You don’t trust me. You are always watching me).
Example. I don’t like being compared to others. I’d rather not be second place, (instead of, You are always comparing me to others. You always put me second).
When you describe your feelings instead of placing the other person’s faults on the table, they are MORE LIKELY to listen. But when a person feels as if their character is being assassinated or assaulted they will DEFEND THEMSELVES AND RETALIATE. When a person is being verbally assaulted, they will ATTACK IN RETURN.
When a marriage is under attack from spirits of blame and accusation, spouses will lose attraction for one another, lose interest in each other, and lose the will to fight for unity in the marriage. This is what we MUST AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Be angry but sin not. Wisdom saves marriage and I pray it saves yours.
Put a Demand on the Bread
Prophet Isaiah said that the people of God were in bondage because they were ignorant of the Will of God due to the fact that they were starved and dehydrated of His Word. – Is. 5:13
It is the obligation of the set men of the House to always prepare a table for the people of God to feast upon. Regardless to what the people are facing, there should always be Provisions of the Word in the House that they are not subjected to ignorance, starvation nor dehydration when going through their tests. When David was running for his life, he ran to the Ahimelech, the priest, for food and ate Bread from the Table. For Moses had received divine instruction to prepare a Table of Shewbread for the Tabernacle. David testified about that Table in the infamous 23rd Psalm because The Bread was a sustainer for him. Prophet Malachi says that there was to always be Meat (often translated as Meal) in the House of God.
The priests were instructed to always keep a fresh supply of bread in the Holy Place continually that there would always be a rhema word in the House of God for His people. Each week, they were to replace the old bread with fresh, hot bread and display it before the Lord.
When we enter the House of the Lord, we are His guests. And He prepares a table for us with the Bread of Faces/Shewbread. In other words, you are supposed to be so nourished upon the Word of God that you literally See the Face of God in everything and in all things. You are to See His Face in Worship, His Face in Prayer, His Face in Giving, His Face in the Praise, His Face in the Distribution of the Word, His Face at the Altar, and even His Face at Benediction. There were 12 Loaves of Bread or 12 Demonstrations of the Face of God that are supposed to GOVERN every situation in our lives. But when the bread is stale, poorly rationed, ill prepared, or missing, the people fall into captivity, ignorance, starvation, and dehydration. Put a demand on the Bread.
The GOOD Habit of Seeking the Lord
It must become your habit to seek the Lord. It must become apart of your daily regimen, schedule, routine, and tradition to inquire of Him every day. Jehoshaphat had a habit of seeking the Lord, therefore when a crisis manifested, he knew precisely what to do. If we don't develop a habit of seeking the Lord when trouble arises in our lives, we are going to turn to the thing or person we have always trusted in to deliver us.
We wonder why some people know how to 'go through' and others just try to 'get through'? The difference is that a person with a disciplined spirit knows the art of seeking the Lord and through that they are granted His wisdom, courage, and skill to stand.
Jehoshaphat knew to set praise first in the battle because he was a seeker. He knew to consult the prophet of God because he was a seeker. God fought for him and gave him the victory because he was a seeker. I exhort you to consider becoming an avid seeker of the Lord. Rise early with His name on your lips and retire in the evening with a prayer in your heart. Let this be the generation of those whom seeks after their God. And let those who seek after Him never be put to shame. Amen.
Sound Thinkers Give Rational Advice
When placed in an extremely stressful situation, it will prove very beneficial to have someone in your corner who can remain calm and think clearly to offer sound advice. It is not a good idea to have two or more highly emotional individuals trying to make a sensible decision. Someone needs to take a step back from the situation to THINK and help make a RATIONAL decision. In the multitude of counsel there is safety.
The Lap of Compromise
Samson lost his strength while laying in the lap of compromise. It is at the point of indulgence in the pleasures of this life that we lose focus of the true call to service. Samson was anointed, he was called and he was surely equipped, but one thing Samson lacked was a pair of razor sharp eyes to see where his traps were set. The enemy used the lust of his flesh to destroy his ministry, and whereas his discernment should have been razor sharp, the razor instead became a tool the enemy used to cut off his strength. May we be ever minded that no matter who we are and to what we have been called to do in the Kingdom of our God, we all are susceptible to falling prey to the enemy’s devices IF we don’t acknowledge and submit to the keeping power of our God to sustain us (as we want to be sustained) from succumbing to the lust of the flesh.
Jesus prayed like this, Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from ALL evil. Prophet Isaiah said it like this, You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on You. David said it like this, Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.
Father today we know that You are well able to keep us in the hour of temptation as we lend ourselves to you perpetually and submit to the power within Your Word. Deliver us from every satanic trap set to derail our destiny in Jesus name, amen.
Tested and Tried
Acts 14:22, “Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.”
We must mature to the place where our tribulations are not overtaking us but rather we are taking them over. No test is pleasant to endure. They are grueling, forceful, and debilitating, but without them, how shall we witness Christ to the saving of souls? How shall we sing songs of redemption and victory? A few nights ago, I accessed the spirit realm while dreaming and I was found walking on what I observed to be ‘bumpy ground’. It wasn’t until I looked down to see that I was literally crushing serpents’ heads as I progressed forward. The Lord is saying that there is such a people after His heart arising within the earth who are like giants with enlarged feet and are crushing the heads of wickedness. They will be tested and tried but because they possess such a determination to please our God and because they sold their lives completely to Him, they will subdue evil without so much of an effort. By living a holy and devout life, they will emerge from their trials almost effortlessly. Therefore, use your adversities as bridges to escort you into glory realms in the Kingdom which are only reserved for the snake head crushers.
When God Moves..
When God initiates a move in your life, it becomes a PROFOUND and sometimes UNPRECEDENTED move. Don’t expect it to make sense and PLEASE don’t expect carnal minds to understand. Just know that He is the PROGNOSTICATOR and there is not one devil created that can WITHSTAND the HAND OF GOD.
Same Issue, DIfferent Zip Code
Don’t make a permanent decision in a temporary place. Just because you are experiencing a little conflict and turbulence does not license you to rearrange your entire life based on a set of fleeting circumstances. Growth never comes without a challenge and challenges are what you need to catapult you into greater faith. Therefore, before you pack your spiritual suit case to make your quick get away, make sure you hear from God, otherwise you will face the same issue you ran away from, only this time it will have a different zip code.
Heaven In Your Hand or Heaven in Your Heart?
The heart is the seat of all emotions. When we receive Christ as our Savior, we ask Him to come into our heart. The Lord Jesus wants to rule from our hearts because that is where the most damage in our lives takes place. Either we have been damaged in our heart or we damage others from our heart. Many people have Heaven on their mind, Heaven on their tongue, and Heaven in their hand, but they have yet to seat Heaven in their heart.
