Progress Vs. Process

“Progress Vs. Process”

Ephesians 4:17 – ‘This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye

henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,’

Sometimes we get in God’s way. Many times God is wanting us to be still and let him work but we want to jump in and help God. Well, God can do awesome things while we wait on him. He can mold us and shape us into the person he wants us to be during this period. That’s why the process is so much more important to God than your progress. People will say that you are wasting your time, or you can’t just sit there and wait. But prayer and fasting is what Jesus did and God was able to move his son according to his promise. Sitting back and letting God handle it is the solution to your situation. Yeah, we want to believe that we should jump out and let God bless our progress, but God wants to mold your process into a strong testimony for him.

We have gotten so caught up in promoting ourselves and creating our own doors that God hardly gets the glory for our lives. Christian recording artists are selling sexually enticing CD covers and posters, while preachers and pastors are making life size portraits and images of themselves and placing them in the church foyers or on the walls. Many have truly lost sight of God’s image and now they are selling their own image. And many are even seeking the applause of the world and the worlds awards to feel important and prestigious! Everything they do has to carry their name and people don’t even see God when they are speaking or performing. But God gets no glory from this stuff, only man. Man promotes himself in the name of Jesus while Jesus is not even glorified in it! If you make your own way, you will get the glory for it. God does not follow, but he leads. What are you gonna say when you have reached your goal? You did this, and you did that, and God was there all the time? Or, God did this, and God did that, and I never got any glory of his? Which testimony do you think God is after? If you take the credit, then you shut out everyone else’s hope of reaching their goals. But if God gets all the credit, then that brings hope to everyone that hears your testimony. Your success is not measured by worldly status, awards, money, or fame, but the true measure of a person is their home, their children, their love for God and desire to obey the Word of God. So, it doesn’t matter how big you can get or how much money and fame you have, but what matters is how you nourished your kids along the way, or how you loved your spouse during your journey! How you put your desires last and the will of God for you first! That’s what matters. God wants us promoting his image (fathering, loving, and caring for loved ones) not our own agenda. Only people are concerned about your progress, but God is more concerned about your process!!
